Alan is not your typical repair shop technician – originally from South Africa, he sports the accent and is an interesting guy to chat with about cars. He knows everything there is to know about German cars, and he can explain things in plain English. So if you’re an enthusiast, he’s a great guy to meet. He probably gets tired of me hanging around his shop checking out his latest work, but that’s my thing and he puts up with my endless questions.

Alan Kidson, founder and CEO of German Car Repair, Inc., has a genuine passion for German cars. He began his career in 1978 as an apprentice working for Natal Motor Industries, a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Durban, South Africa. In 1979, he transferred to Forsdicks BMW in Durban, and completed a five-year apprenticeship in three years with honors. In 1986, he was hired from South Africa by an Atlanta BMW dealer to train dealer technicians on the strength of his background and factory accredited qualifications. Alan has previous BMW Factory training, both in South Africa and in the United States. His product knowledge, wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence is evident in the quality of service experienced by customers of German Car Repair, Inc.

Alan's certifications and training include: National Technical Certificate III, Durban, South Africa; (three-year Technical College degree in Automotive Engineering and Management); Prior member of BMW's ACT (Association of Certified Technicians); and Factory training at BMW's assembly plant in Rosslyn, South Africa from 1979 to 1986.

Yvette Kidson, wife of Alan Kidson, also emigrated from South Africa to the United States in 1986. While still in South Africa, she worked for a number of years as Secretary to the Credit Analyst at the Regional Office of a large banking organization in Durban. Shortly after their arrival in the United States, she acquired an administrative position at a Norcross-based Executive Suite Company.  She worked there for several years, assisting professionals in various industries, including Attorneys, a Job Search Company, and Construction Company.

In January, 2003, Yvette assumed the position of Office Manager at German Car Repair, Inc.  She manages all administrative assignments for German Car Repair and her attention to detail ensures the smooth day-to-day running of operations in the office. Along with Alan, she is committed to making certain our customers' service needs are met promptly and correctly.

Jerry Weiden, our Porsche specialist, has built his reputation through his meticulous work ethic, unmatched experience, and commitment to his customers. Jerry has gained an impressive following over the years. In 1975, he started his career at an automotive vocational school and interned as a trainee with Bill Campbell Porsche/Audi in Pensacola, Florida. Since then, Jerry has completed more than forty Porsche training school courses. He achieved Porsche Master Technician status in 1984. In our opinion, Jerry ranks as one of the best. His product knowledge and experience have made him a priceless asset to German Car Repair, Inc., and we are proud to have him on our team. His wide range of experience in all aspects of Porsche repair, including extensive race-car preparation and service, make him the only logical choice to maintain and repair your Porsche.

Wael Mokdad, started training at German Motor Tech in Duluth in 1996. He became their leading diagnostic technician and successfully ran the service department for 8 years. As German Car Repair, Inc. began to experience growing pains in early 2005, we were delighted to have Wael join the team in April that year. Over the years, Wael has gained invaluable experience and extensive product knowledge on BMW, Audi and Volkswagen automobiles. With attention to detail, he thoroughly enjoys making every vehicle unique in its own way. He takes great care in maintaining them as if they are his own.
